Turns out a straight 5/8” Gates Safety Stripe hose is the move for me too. Since I have the hose aligned with the angle it wants to bend (from being taken off a reel), it fits great!

Thanks, this does help! I did not realize that 1/2” silicone caps intended for high-temp coolant loops existed - that is a straightforward solution to this problem. I’ll also look at using a straight Gates hose like the 1FZ folks do and I think @duece71 did, but I feel like that will be too...

Howdy @HillCountryTX! What did you end up choosing to do here? I'm also considering using a section of Gates hose because I don't want to wait for 87209-60360. I do have a 1HD-FT so @ikarus's solution of 87209-60360 will probably work plug-and-play for me but I'm curious.
