I think it's whatever is in there last. They asked me three times to verify it was REALLY ATF. I'm not gonna stick my finger in and taste it but yeah, doesn't smell like motor oil, may look like it... kinda like my brake fluid...

Old thread revival.
I have done the drain pan drain and then 4 QTs back in. (actually 5 and I had to siphon some fluid out). I think the tranny cooler on the JDM HDJ81 is on the bottom of the engine coolant radiator but I am not completely sure. I need to find the correct lines as well for the fluid exchange. Great thread.

Its called a Rodney Flush. Just recently did that to my tranny and it is running perfect. I just remove the bottom line to the tranny oil cooler fitting and let it drain away....fluid exchange plus flow test all in 1.
