Fast window mod - motor relays on a PCB!

They all work & have been robust over the past couple weeks. My next step is to get a big batch of the boards manufactured for you all & then get the wiring harnesses made as well. End to end turnaround time is probably 4 weeks. I wanted to be shipping them by now but my day job has been...

Fast window mod - motor relays on a PCB!

Got around to finally installing my prototype boards today. They all work - here is a proof of life video of the prototype (not in its casing or anything). This is my daily driver so I'll be testing them over the next couple weeks. For anyone in the bay area, CA, I'd help you install a set for...

Replaced the faded & cracked D pillar vents with the repro kit from the rust farmers. Before is right, after is left. Looks great! My original vents' gasket was completely hard from aging in the sun.

Fast window mod - motor relays on a PCB!

Looks like I have a path to affordable wiring harnesses - will update when confirmed. I'm delayed on testing since my work picked up (no free time anymore), but I have some boards hand assembled on the bench and waiting for install this Friday.

Update for folks - the vendor I was planning to work with on harnesses went radio silent. I am looking for alternative vendors who can do just as good quality. Sorry for the delay!

Final update - received my locks from Matt. He repaired my broken hatch lock cylinder which several locksmiths refused to attempt, cut me new keys based on the passenger lock code, and rekeyed a driver's door lock cylinder & ignition to match. Incredible work & done with really high quality...

    ToyotaMatt - what's worked?

Final update - received my locks from Matt. He repaired my broken hatch lock cylinder, cut me new keys based on the passenger lock code, and rekeyed a driver's door lock cylinder & ignition to match. Incredible work & done with really high quality. He's clearly a first rate technician /...

Fast window mod - motor relays on a PCB!

This community is awesome. 96% of folks want the higher quality set with molex connector and harness, even if it adds cost. I'll be working with the manufacturer to do that. Work picked up a lot this week so stay tuned for this weekend; hoping to get my first unit installed in my truck.

Hey all - need your input on another vote since there are two directions the project can go. I've emailed everyone who filled out my first form. You can vote here. I'll wait a few days before making a decision on project direction, and update here with the results.

Thanks Matt - appreciate you finishing the project. Looking forward to getting the locks. Please send them out tomorrow. EDIT / note: Matt and I originally agreed upon the locks being sent out earlier in the week. That didn't happen, which is OK. Slip ups happen and we're all busy, especially...

Good call! I’ll do that. I don’t intend to tow anything - just use it for a bike rack. But I’ll get all the hardware to swap to grade 8 in the next couple weeks.

It is the original that came on the truck. I guess port installed? It’s a draw tite.

Attaching some pictures of the tow hitch. Mine had surface rust and very hard to remove stickers. I got it professionally sandblasted and powder coated. Re-installed with stainless steel hardware...sadly everything is made in China. Hopefully it truly is stainless. Hitch came out great!!
