    replacing AHC globes/accumulators

Does the accumulator check out? Have you checked the pressures via an OBDII reader?

Source of leak in rear hatch

The seal around the rear glass was leaking on mine. Check to see if the rubber around the glass is loose. It should be glued on. If that's the problem, I fixed it with glass weather stripping adhesive from the auto parts store. You probably also have a mold and a rust problem now too. Sorry.

    alternative fluids for AHC system

I agree. For just moving the vehicle, to the shop to remove the system, I'd use AT fluid. It's easier to clean up and it's cheaper. Respectful to your decision to remove it, but to the internet at large I want to say: getting the system working well is not more expensive than aftermarket...

    replacing AHC globes/accumulators

I'd also suggest letting the vehicle sit with the AHC in Hi for an hour or two, then Lo and let it sit for a few minutes. And do this for a few cycles. This removes trace amounts of gas in the sytem. I did this after major work on my sytem and went from "pretty good" to "whoa this thing is a...

Hi everybody/ rough shaking at idle

Rough idle is usually a fueling problem or ignition. The usual suspects: Vacuum leak Worn out sparkplugs Ignition coil(s) on the verge of failing Dirty fuel injectors Overdue fuel filter change

2004 Lx470 AHC Firestone air bags NOW AIR LIFT

This is great! I had airlift on the back of my 80 and I loved them. I’ve been thinking about adding them to my lx470 too. Thanks for the write up!

No mechanic will touch my AHC. DIY repair advice?

Agree it is an omen for continued problems. It breaks my heart when someone pulls the system - its a great system. Probably my favorite feature of the whole vehicle. I mean it can ride like a limousine one minute, handle legit off-roading the next. It can auto level, lift you out of a high...

    2000 LX470 AHC Suspension Question

The CV joint would not be a player in suspension action. The first thing I would look at would be the condition of the shocks (even though they are really only hydraulic plungers, Toyota refers to them as "shock absorbers") maybe the right side is worn out and binding up. At the same time, I...

Almost new OEM AHC rear springs installed-still 3/4" rear height difference

I think you mean MPa not psi? 1MPa = ~145 psi.

    AHC Help: Can't clear code

Hmmm I pulled the whole thing, which is pretty easy, but I needed the pump out. If your only interest is the reservoir, it might be easier to just remove the reservoir, but messy. It is held on only by two 10mm bolts, one in the front and one in the back. If you can get to the rear one, it...

    replacing AHC globes/accumulators

Can be that a globe or the accumulator failed, allowing nitrogen gas into the fluid. After my last flush job, I kept the vehicle in high for a couple of hours to absorb gas, then lowered to L for an hour to let the gas migrate out in the reservoir. I did this for 4 or 5 cycles with good...

    AHC Help: Can't clear code

Thank you so much! I should have known that! #facepalm Let me correct post 22. Had a great trip to Breckenridge BTW the AHC performed flawlessly. Rode like a limo on the highway and climbed the snowy unpaved road (up 1300 ft every day) like a land cruiser :)

    AHC Help: Can't clear code

No I shorted out my motor before I figured out that I had reassembled the pump sub assembly without noting the correct clocking position. The only hope of resolving that situation would have been to move the gears one tooth at a time, reassemble, reinstall, test, remove and repeat until the pump...

    AHC Help: Can't clear code

Worked out great! I have 14 gradations now from L to H. I forgot to mention that they were about $135 each, plus about $100 from Japan. Probably you will need an accumulator too. They kind of all have the same life span. Well, let me just say it: my accumulator failed while I was bleeding my...

    AHC Help: Can't clear code

Let me tell you the story about the day that @jLB saved Christmas! I didn't want to whine, but this whole situation was a lot worse than I initially described - mostly because we were due to depart on the Hunny's first real road trip on the 26th! All paid for. Nonrefundable. Thousands of...
