The 3rd was the actual goal, so I blew past that one, I may get done with all but paint by the end of the month though I do have a long range tank to figure out.
When we were working on it there was debate on welding to the fender, cut off wheels are cheap and readily available at work, plus there are guys that can reweld if need be.i am not one of those guys haha
They are overkill, but they are 4” heavy wall tubes welded every 4”-6” to the body. It was the material lying around available at the shop. I didn’t worry about the weight as the truck did lose some.

Got my carpet in, haven’t taken pictures yet. Got my bed frame built and mounted. More diamond plate to cut for sides and bulkhead and wood to mill and fit for the floor .
I’m very happy with this so far.
Getting it closed in. Still need to pull taillight wires and fuel tank plastic thingy through the back panel. Found a long range tank and have a good idea how to install it, modifying the spare tire cross member to hang it.
Made more progress today, replaced the rockers with 4x4 tube.and added steps. Still have some fiberglass work to do and some grind and fill work. Then the bed and paint. Goal is to be done by March, as that will mark 10 years of ownership.
It’s been some time, but finally got to work on Godzilla. Drove it to work and reworked the back hatch. I’m happy with how this attempt turned out . Still have the bottom half to build then the bed.
