@azrockbum This is really a bitchin little 40. Very unique and I would guess pretty capable trail rig for the stock-ish looking stance. ARB in the rear too? Not a buyer, have too many projects as it is, but this would be a sweet little 40 to own if you wanted a nice driver and very capable...

Dumb question, I haven't had one of these lockers in my hand... is there a similar opening 180 degrees from the one you are unable to remove the block from that may have a slightly larger opening?

I have brand new orange lenses for the bib lights and aftermarket clear ones that aren't of great quality (they are not the ones SOR offers).

I would look for a good cheap runner to swap in, and then spend some time looking for the right shop to rebuild the one you removed. They are out there.....

I really like that tach mount and the radio. Sweet 80. The '65 80 I bought from Jon a couple years ago is still sitting just as it did the day I pulled it off the trailer.. :(

You dont need a tach to tell the difference between 2500rpm and 5500 rpm, assuming you're not hearing impaired. I suspect the 5500rpm comment is just an over exaggeration? You have a nice looking 40. Cheapest route would be to step up to a tall skinny 35” diameter tire. Any other route will...

Earlier clusters have the push in bulb housing that looks identical to the one you posted. Just a thought. I may or may not remember to check on my '70 when I get home later tonight.

I am just thinking out loud - are the bulb holders identical to the bulb holders that are used in the back of the cluster itself? If so, that would open you up to a lot more potential sources and make these bulb holders much easier to find....
