Definatetly interested in seeing how this turns out. What is the gear reduction in the portals? Hopefully a little lower than 1.22 like all the other 74 Weld portals, cause if my math is correct with 4.10 that will put you right at 5.00. But if you can run 40s or even 42s the effective gear range could be back to stock (maybe).

So what diff goes in it? Axle shaft diam/splines. What am I missing?
It's a custom diff build by DELTA Vehicle Systems using Currie axles. 35ct I believe, waiting for Currie to send the axles.

We'll be running 42s on our 80 so that will be the test bed. I imagine the gear reduction will be the same 22% but until I hear that from 74Weld I can't confirm. :)

Any idea what diff? Ford 9", Toyota 10.5", Toy 9.5"

Still trying to figure out the one ton refference.

whatever diff goes in there, as a fan of removable 3rd members this is all extremely sexy

10" HP "Ford" based differential in another set without portals.. Probably Gearworks?

I would imagine with the Portals, a cheaper 9" diff would be used as its a real waste of money to go with the 10" setup having the torque reduction in the portals.

Gearworks makes good stuff. I have a friend with 14b dop out centers and portals. Now that is SEXY!

stock 9" would be plenty strong enough and plenty clearance with portals.. and more options/less cost then Toyota 3rds. 35 spline ARB's available off the shelf.
