Thanks for all the input. Nope, I don't have a lot of experience towing, that's why I'm getting input from more experienced
people before trying something that's not a good idea.
What makes this weight unsafe for 96 F1Z-FE?
Is it the strength of the frame? Is the lack of power of the motor? Is it the limitation of the suspension? Ability of the brake system? The FSM says not to?
I've had a drawer system / sleeping platform for 10 years plus. I too do a lot of fishing. Mine is carpeted birch wood, so it's really heavy and robust. A large plastic bin can solve the problem of the wet waders. Yes, it's more cost and extra weight and it's relatively permanent, but you will...
You may be onto something there. It does sound like a clock spring. Did you resolve this? Are there any safety issues if I don’t get that fixed right away?
Out of no where, I started to hear a clicking type sound from the steering column, under the dash, inside the clamshell. Almost sounds like a relay clicking sound. I can reproduce the sound turning the steering wheel a half turn to the right only.
Took off clamshell, looked under the...
@randomkid123 Keep in mind this was 2019. I'm sure prices have drastically changed, but I am super happy with the quality and reliability of the rebuild. Not one problem from the rebuild and I put on 75,000 miles since the rebuild.
I found it very difficult to find locally, Zinc plated, 10.9 Grade, M12 x 1.25, full threaded, 40mm+ size bolts.
I believe that 50mm is too long even with the spacing plate.
This is the only place I found and I had to have it shipped.
@Shoredreamer this was very helpful thank you very much. This was the information I was looking for. Would you tie wrap the protected wires on the top side of the frame? Is there anyway to run those two wires inside the frame rail?
I should be more precise about what I am trying to accomplish. I am installing a brake controller under the dash, and I am converting a 4 pin to a 7 pin trailer harness. The blue wire is coming from the Redarc all the way back to the brake controller output of the 7 pin, the 7 pin also needs a...
To be safe, you are correct, it should be fused, but if I follow the wiring diagram as per Redarc, it doesn't have to be fused.
I'm still hoping someone could answer the question, "is there a constant 12v wire near the spare tire:?
