    Radiator Hoses 78 FJ40 5.7L Vortec Swap

Changed the waterpump on my 5.7L Vortec and decided to change hoses at the same time. Figured I'd share part numbers to make it more straight forward. Truck has an aluminum radiator with 1 1/2 inlet and outlet. Water pump inlet is 1 3/4 Thermostat is 1 1/4 Here's what you need hose wise...

100% agree. Appreciate your restraint on the cosmetics. It's lived an easy life. No need to disconnect the history. It's beautiful.

    Cruiser Spottings

A guy showed up at Cars and Coffee this morning with an FJ Company restored 40. The workmanship was flawless. Not sure its worth the $130K price tag, but closest thing you can get to buying a new 40 off the lot (albeit a South American spec truck)

Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

@Slimm thanks for the heads up. After a couple of good rains, the hatch seal seems to have done it (knock on wood). I had previously considered it being the roof rack mounts since I'd had it off so sealed all of those with the 3M Dripsealer before replacing the hatch seal. It may be those. There...

    Cruiser Spottings

Jeremy, I somehow missed your response. I don't know if I had my truck there that day. I get it up to C&C pretty often when it isn't too hot out. Ha $5 bucks a squeak. Terry was able to help me out with that rattle I had. It ended up being the hood hinge pins. They are original and have some...

How to properly install Weatherstrip on Rear Tailgate

Anybody looking for an answer on orienting the rear hatch weatherstrip, I posted what I did on this thread Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

@Slimm thanks. So piecing together several pieces of information including guidance from my buddy who is a Lexus tech, here's what I went with. Centering the pink line on the factory gasket on the bottom of the opening yielded what you had said about the three drain dots going across the bottom...

    Rear Liftgate Leaking

@r3run33 Is there anyway I can get you to take some pics of the critical areas of the weatherstrip so I know how to orient mine so it doesn't leak? Specifically there are a couple areas that have a reinforced pinch and some apparent drain holes and cutouts?

Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

@n55luvr I've got exactly the same problem. Is there a trick to installing the weatherstrip. I've had the rear hatch weatherstrip all the way off and attempted to reinstall with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, but still leaks and I can see the water coming down the outside of the weatherstrip up...

    Leaking Rr hatch

@BillWms01 I've had the rear hatch weatherstrip all the way off and attempted to reinstall with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, but still leaks and I can see the water coming down the outside of the weatherstrip up top then ending up on the inside of the weatherstrip on the bottom like a gutter...

How to properly install Weatherstrip on Rear Tailgate

@agaisin what did you end up doing as far as putting on the new weatherstrip. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Got the 3rd light sealed up, but still leaking. I've had the rear hatch weatherstrip all the way off and attempted to reinstall with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, but still...
