Outstanding. We are very excited to see the old beast fixed up and very happy you have it.

    Builds Meet Steve

Remember, Pigeaten...I am watching. When the truck is done, I am bringing your money back and claiming, with a very pathetic look on my face for the Judge, that I was temporarily mentally incompetent to sell and got gypped. Then, I'll be off to the backcountry in Steve. Hope you and yours are...

    FJ62 Antenna Mast Repair

I bet I replaced my antenna twice because I broke it by brushing branches. Take the advice and install a spring base or flexible antenna. My 1990 62 radio has been terrible on AM since day one anyway (sadly). Static and electrical noise from the electrical system. I was never able to cure it. In...

    Deciphering PO’s A/C Wiring

I have the factory AC manual for FJ60. Publication RAC-015 Mar 1981 It includes AC wiring. It does not include compressor rebuilding. If it will help, I'll loan it to you. PM an address.

Look atop the spare. You will find backup coolant hoses. Point gapping shim on the distributor vacuum tube inlet. Spare belts wired to fender well. Spare spark plug and coil wire behind battery. I had spares stashed everywhere.

You guys should have seen it. Pigeaten drove up the driveway, marched into the house, and laid down his 250 bucks. My wife snatched it up faster than if it had been cat fur on her chair. Pigeaten broke into the high giggles, loaded the 55 onto his trailer and, shaking his head and wiping tears...

    Builds Meet Steve

Was great meeting you and we are very excited that our truck went to someone else with The Affliction. Still have a 1990 FJ62, so can remain members here without fear of Stolen Valor accusations or charges of treason for parting with our Landcruiser fleet. Will be watching your posts as the...

Preserving Patina - How To Tips and Tricks

Lately, I had to tear the headliner out of one of the cruisers. Mice had gone above via the posts rising from the rear of the hood, and for generations after, had lived the libertine life atop the headliner. I couldn't believe it. Had no idea that was possible. First thing I always do when I get...

Just tossing this out RE: Communications

"Timing" and "master" imply a digital system. What is the waveform and how secure from interferenca and intercept are these systems? That technical info, more than the estimated range, will determine interest, if you ask me.

I believe this is my favorite thread on the whole site.

Hey man Nice Truck, Wanna sell it?

It IS a great conversation starter. My favorite line is to approach some guy waiting in the rig while his wife is in a store, and say "Nice Cruiser...It's missing only one thing, a For Sale sign". Without fail, they laugh, and the conversation gets under way. Met a lot of nice Cruiser owners...

Talk me into or out of a FJ80 - Bought it!

I have an FJ55, an FJ62 and owned an 80 series rig. I sold the 80 but the reason was that the PO was a lady realtor who had failed to take care of it. There was just too much in it that had been neglected. The only remark I have about that truck's capability is that it couldn't even make it up...

    GPS Tracker

A couple thoughts. First, many police departments don't much care about stolen cars, especially when someone you know or are related may have taken it. The D.A. won't take such a case and the cops don't want to get sued if the thing goes bad. Tens of thousands are stolen every month. Second, if...

What did you do to your pig today?

It's a 74. Pretty much bone stock 4 spd. I'll post it one of these days. I am wrestling now with what to leave undone (unrepaired) because it is never possible to guess what the new owner would prefer. Don't want to spend money that the next guy will scrap out for an axle swap or disc brakes or...
