For Sale 1999 Land Cruiser Torsion Bars and Rear Springs-Maine, USA

I bought them to replace the AHC in my 2000 LX470. Before I had a chance to install them, I realized I needed a pickup more than I thought I would and traded the LX for a Tacoma. From a Florida truck, so they aren't all rusty like stuff originally from New England. I can send you some...

    Oxygen Sensor Stud Threads??

I should have been more clear. Sorry about that

    Oxygen Sensor Stud Threads??

I did. I put the one that came out back in. The sensor itself does not screw in. It has a flange with holes on each side that go over the studs on the pipe. The original nuts that threaded in the studs rusted away. I replaced them.

    car service manual ?

I use alldatadiy.com. Years ago I would buy the factory service manuals for my vehicles, but once the internet came out in full force, I realized that the info on alldata was the same as I was looking at in the printed manuals. It's subscription based, but you can print whatever you need.

    Oxygen Sensor Stud Threads??

Updated for anyone who finds this while doing a web search. The threads are M8x1.25. I went out this morning when it got light and crawled under to check. I ran a die down the studs to clean up the threads then went to NAPA and got a gasket, new nuts, lock washers, and red Loctite. The...

    Oxygen Sensor Stud Threads??

I've still been searching and found a few threads here on the 80 series board that says M8x1.25 and most Toyota boards out there on the web say the same thing. I'm gonna go with that.

    Oxygen Sensor Stud Threads??

2000 LX470 Driver's side, post cat O2 sensor...does M8x1.25 sound correct? Is there a gasket? I was on the highway this afternoon, and all of a sudden it sounded like I got a hole in my exhaust above the muffler. When I got home I looked, and the O2 sensor was hanging there. The threads seem...

    Idiot or Moron?

I'm bucking the trend. I don't think you got a bad truck...maybe paid a little more than I would have (depending on mileage), but still, it's a 16 year old vehicle from a state that apparently uses some chemicals and salt on their roads. My 2000 LX has spent its life in Maine and has rust...

Anyway to increase efficiency on a 2UZFE Engine or Transmission?

I get 13.xx mpg back and forth to work and 15.xx mpg when I use cruise on the highway for any distance. It's the nature of the beast. I also have a 1998 4 door Chevy Tahoe with 3.42s that gets pretty much the same mpg.

Brake line swap then bleed- tips and tricks requested

Going to jump in with a question here....hope that's ok. The key has to be on to bleed the rear? Is that specific to certain model years? I put new calipers on the rear of my 2000 last night. While I haven't pressure bled yet, I did crack the bleeder until fluid started coming out. I was...

Is there such thing as a cheap 100?

For reference, I bought my 2000 LX last August for $10k. It had 113k miles and barely any rust underneath.....a rare find up here in the salt belt. The person I bought it from is an LC enthusiast who was moving out of the country and couldn't import it where he was going. It came with most...

How to know if a 100 has AHC?

If you see indications that it has AHC, ask how it functions. When I bought mine, it had all of the stuff under the hood and inside, but the PO had replaced the underneath components with a Strutmasters kit. I knew this going into it, so it wasn't a big deal, but there are a lot of...

What oil and filter do you have and how often do you change

I use a Napa Gold filter and Napa 5w-30. I'm old fashioned and change at 3k miles. I have 121k on my '00 LX470. Using that combination, I've brought my wife's '02 Camry to 287k (and counting), my old '99 Suburban to 219k, and our '01 Volvo S60 to 194k (and counting, too). This past week I...

An illustrated guide to replacing your APPS - Part 1

I'm not sure if there was a switch from an actual accelerator cable to "drive by wire" at any point before 2006. On my 2000 I have an actual cable going from the pedal to the APPS on the throttle body. When my APPS went bad, I had no throttle at all until I pushed the pedal down as far as it...
