Won’t be to many build posts for a while, setting off for the West Coast, then leaving it in Oregon until we move to California in June. Started the trip off with a good chunk of the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way from VA to Nashville. Had to get used to real hills and watching EGT’s…

    ACSD Removal 1HD-T

If the head is snapped off, you should still be able to remove the ACSD. If so, get it out of the way first. After that, block off the hole in your IP that is left with tape, and spray a good bit of penetrant on the bolt and let it sit, apply heat as well if you are able. After letting it soak...

EPIC Cruisers - Oil Catch Can Kit - NOW AVAILABLE!

This is a great looking kit, mine is nowhere near as nice looking. For anyone concerned about price, this is very reasonable for a complete with fitting kit. Most offerings for the 1HD are upwards of $250 US.

Confirmed this WAS an issue. Temps climbed to 165 within 7 minutes on my morning commute, then stayed steady there the rest of the way. Previously it would reach the 140's at best on that short drive. Also kicking myself for not flushing the ATF sooner. Never new the transmission could run so...

Since we got this thing, it has hardly seen mountains, or even prolonged hills. A mild East Coast trail, a few day drives. At the beach we lit up the trans temp light almost instantly. So with it in mind that we’re headed to CA for some real trails, and a lot of hills, I decided to add an aux...

Turns out you CAN, very carefully, change the thermostat without pulling down the alternator. It is not fun, and requires patience and soaking of the bolt to avoid stripping it. But it can be done, just need a 12 point offset wrench, which is why you have to be careful to not round it off. It’s...

Few small items today, much needed windshield wiper arms with the standard U hooks. Have also been chasing poor fuel exonomy issues. Last long trip averaged 16.5 hwy, wich is worse than its typical 17-18 in town. Starting with easy first, replaced fuel filter & housing, replaced fuel lines...

The aussies suggest changing every 100k km. It’s a PITA but cheap.

Used this method: Pretty easy TBH. Then use the string method to put it back.

Dealt with some rust underneath the rear fixed windows. Looked pretty benign from the outside, but was heinous underneath. Took a good bit of time to grind down to bare metal, fill the divots, and repaint, but hopefully the fresh paint will keep the rust at bay.

Odd part # fuel filter housing? 1HD-T, 1990

Seems this NZ site confirms the 12mm in/out.

Odd part # fuel filter housing? 1HD-T, 1990

All, Trying to source a new fuel filter housing. Mine is stamped with 23300-17030. Not finding that anywhere, only 23301-17030. Looks the same, just wanting to make sure I won't end up with wrong size input/output hoses. Mine are 12mm in and out. Just a simple superseded part number?
