I would love the 1GR and supercharge it.
They can test all they want but you can't simulate time, and I'm not excited about being a beta tester for high output engines that traditionally have been shorter lived than relatively unstressed engines.
Light duty compared to the 70 series on which it was based.
In that case it was coil springs that didnt hammer your spine through your head. The running gear was from a hilux in gen 1. Sonce gen 2 the prado has been more heavy duty than a hilux.
Pricing doesn't make sense.
How can the hard touch, cloth seat version be only 5k under a GX?
Unless it's the first edition that will be 55k.
Edit: the only market that i know has the current gx and prado has pricing from 46 to 55k usd for prado and 65 to 80+ for the GX so I'm more convinced...
If you have the FCP the front should be adjustable.
Ironmans "A" spec spring should be ok, and Dobinsons have a host of springs at different lengths and spring rates.
Your problem is the springs amd not the shocks.
You need to go to oem spec springs.
Which ironman shocks have you got? Of its the fcp id leave them in at first and test with oem springs. The oem shocks are too soft imo and wallow a bit.
I run my car w fcp and oem spec springs
Rear springs 90 eur each on euro4x4parts btw.
Edit. TOY013B Ironman springs are 229lb compared to OEM 170lb. That's 34% stiffer but shouldnt be as bad as you say. Are you sure you dont have the C springs?
I rode in an Ironman equipped 100 a few weeks ago with the white shocks, and while it was definitely firmer than stock it was not harsh at all.
I'd say to use stock TB up front and find a lifted rear spring that matches stock spring rates or install OEM springs with a coil spacer. The OME 2860...
I've got mine installed now and drove 100s of km of washboard.
I have to say my experience is not the same as yours (in an FJ cruiser though).
Low speed damping is much improved (and was my biggest problem with OEM), I'd say 90% of the OEM high speed damping is there in terms of comfort. This...
The FCP fit fine inside the OEM spring. The OEM spring is not too short, not sure why you say this?
OEM spring free height is 355mm. Stock strut open length is 540mm, the 45730FE strut I used is 560mm. OEM spring seat height is 214mm; I set mine to 226mm giving me 1" lift.
The final spring...
