Towing with a 200-series Toyota Land Cruiser

Yes, government approvals. I wouldn't be concerned personally either, but at the time I was trying to get Kimberley to install the Hitch EZY instead of the DO35. Due to potential liability issues, it was a no-go. If I was replacing my DO35, it would be a no-brainer.

I emailed extensively with John, the owner of Hitch EZY while waiting for our Kruiser to be built. I really wanted to go that route, but at the time (not sure if that's changed), they did not have appropriate approvals for the US. At his recommendation, I went DO35. If I ever need to replace...

    Tint for the 200

Correct...the rear factory tint really only needs heat rejection, hence the 70%. 30% for the front side windows. The windshield has a very slight blue tint, but otherwise isn't visibly noticeable. What is noticeable is the heat rejection... Back in '19 the work was ~$800 including the...

Ironman Foam Cell Pro vs OME BP-51

I did not level the front, but I do have rear airbags which may be contributing. I did not intentionally level with the bags, but with 5lbs of pressure that's where they sit. Tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3 in 285/65-18. No wheels spacers. No rubbing.

The E3 would probably be okay...I would suggest a discussion with David Bates. I feel the tongue weight on the S3 is a big factor in my situation. I have airbags and stiffer springs over stock, but those modifications don't redistribute weight to the front axle...they only serve to level the...

Towing with a 200-series Toyota Land Cruiser

I know another couple with the same trailer that has an F-350...no issues whatsoever. It is killing me to move on from the LC...:frown:

Towing with a 200-series Toyota Land Cruiser

The frame extends all the way to the rear from what I can tell. I’m pretty sure the shape of the frame at the tongue would be problematic for a WD setup, plus you couldn’t go off-road as the WD system wouldn’t allow the hitch to articulate. There’s also no room between the storage pod and...

Towing with a 200-series Toyota Land Cruiser

Prior to the Kimberley we had a 17' Casita. Approximate weight 3,000 pounds. Didn't even know it was behind me. That trailer did have the Anderson WD setup (chains instead of hard bars). Towed it up to West Virginia through the smokies with no effort on the part of the LC.

Here's a video from Overland Expo West showcasing our trailer (my wife is now a YouTube star!): We love the trailer...the layout is exactly what we were looking for, and the construction quality is top-notch. The only trailer I've seen (and I've looked at pretty much every US brand on the...

    Fuel pump recall

I watched them put it on a lift and drop it down, which completely surprised me. Maybe because I have drawers in the rear, but they didn't so much as mention that there was a "challenge". That being said, a friend of mine (former automotive engineer for Honda) advised that on a '19, the top...

    Fuel pump recall

Had my pump replaced this morning. 2019 LC200. They dropped the tank to do the work...took about 1.5 hours total, maybe a little less.

Frame is galvanized steel. I believe the issue is space and use case off-road.
