@65swb45 Mark…..is this just a blemish or a spot with rust coming through that needs to be cleaned up? Sorry to ask here, I didn’t see an option to PM.
@bottombracket My attic is the equivalent of hell in the summer time, so won’t be storing anything for a concours restoration there. Not sure it would be possible to climate control it with any level of efficiency.
Saw someone else post similar with success, so giving it a try. Looking for a front floor mat in good condition that will work in a 1978 FJ40.
Prefer original Toyota, may just default to City Racer if unable to find an original one…..
For awhile now, there would be times I would turn the key to start the 40 and I would get nothing. Waiting a minute or two and trying again would sometimes help, and other times tapping on the starter with a hammer would get things going. I suspected the starter may going out so finally replaced...
@45Dougal Appreciate it. Let it run for over an hour yesterday and all seemed to do fine. Still regulating voltage like I would expect and haven’t seen smoke again. Think I’m driving it today. 😁
Interesting. Thanks for the input @charliemeyer007 This is the only vehicle I use a battery tender on regularly when not driving, others I do what you mentioned (overnight or no more than a couple days as they are driven often).
