Hey everyone, I figured instead of making an individual thread for every video we make I could use this one to catalog our travel content as we make our way through South America. After nearly 3 months in Colombia, we are now in Ecuador, which means I have had the time to put together a new...
Hey team. So I was getting some light wobble when I turned the steering wheel *very slightly* to the right. I lifted the front end and sure enough there's a decent amount of play in the left wheel when pushing from the 12 and 6 o'clock position. The trucks been in a lot of rivers and mud...
Hmmmm, I guess today has actually been a few months... Had a blown out front shock absorber fixed in Bogota, then got new no name springs and shocks for the rear to compensate for the added weight. Had a roof rack welding shop make me a small front basket for the roof ($60) and slid the tent...
Well we've been in Colombia for over a month now. Had some work on our own KZJ78 done here (cosmetic and just some broken suspension). I have to say... The quality of the work here is just lower. A lot lower. I mean, they can definitely fix stuff, but for how long? What kind of corners are cut...

Hey guys, so we've been in Colombia now for about 2 weeks, after shipping the truck from Mexico, we went through some pretty sticky mud in the somewhat dry lakebeds of the Guajira desert and did some dune driving and hitting mountain mud roads. But overall, no real difficult or heavy 4x4. I...
Did you know Belize gets new Land Cruisers? If you ever go there, stop at a Westrac, it's like a NAPA but better. We loved Belize so much we went there a second time, and now with enough material, made a new video. We went back because, well, we had to wait a few weeks. But I'm happy to say, the...
Yeah what Ed said. Check the codes jumping pins. To make it easier here's a link.
Link to Guide
Just note Toyota codes are different between diesel and gas trucks.
Hmmmm.... It's running a bit different than just an air leak I think. But the O-rings I mean are on the fuel filter. One at the top, and one at the bottom. Did you try changing the filter? I know it's simple but sometimes that's how it is. Test the MAF sensor too, then I'd test the fuel pressure...
Hey I know this is a long dead thread, but instead of starting a new one just thought I'd throw this here. I was bored and found this guy on Facebook, he's got a 4bt swapped Prado. Seems pretty cool! Never seen any info on it on these forums so thought I'd leave it here...
Yeah that might be it, I never had the filter hand pump leak. Also, when you do bleed it, crack the lines at the injectors not the pump, just noticed I wrote that backwards. Either way you should be good, sounds simple enough
I replaced the injection pump in Guatemala a few months back. All you have to do is loosen the 4 injector lines on the pump and crank it for a few seconds until it squirts fuel out. Tighten it up and you're good. White smoke is for sure just air in the fuel, but it shouldn't last more than 20-30...
Yes sir! We've been stopped working on the truck and arranging shipping for over a month now. Within a week or two we'll start filming another full-length video and then off to South America, everything will make sense. However, the next month or two will be a bit of a gap in the uploading just...
