Is it Worth Saving/ Should I buy it?

You say you don't weld, nor do bodywork, so I would definitely pass on that rust bucket! It needs way too much work. If you're just after a trail beater, why not get a cheap domestic truck... If you really want a 60 series, I agree with most of the other replies; spend more time searching, and a...

Refurb of the ol' FJ62 GXL 3F H55F

Continued... Oh, almost forgot...I put some silicone grease on the slip ring for lubrication/corrosion protection. You guys n girls from the land of the maple tree might like my key tag...I've had it since the summer of '95, I spent 2 weeks in Vancouver with a local lass (she gave me the key...

Refurb of the ol' FJ62 GXL 3F H55F

I got around to fixing the horn today. I considered doing the .22 casing trick, but the new pin is only about $6.00, plus I always like to do a job properly whenever possible. I actually found a few spent .22 shells under the front seats, plus a couple of live rounds too, from the old farmer who...

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

I decided to cut back the steel heater pipe section to where the the metal is solid, give it a quick sand blast and paint with hi temp engine enamel. I just need to make up longer hoses to connect to the heater valve.

Builds “The Dude”: New Owner w/ Basket Case FJ60

Cool, no probs. You're probably correct regarding the rear half being tight, iirc, a couple head bolts were a tad long and were bottoming out after you shaved the head, and you had a small coolant leak, hence the need for washers. So that would've pulled the head down a fraction (obviously, coz...

Awesome! Glad she's all coming together nicely. You could be right about the leads, never underestimate the power of OEM HT leads. Either way, I'm sure you'll iron it out👍🏻 When you set the valve clearances on the cold engine, did you set to the hot spec, or did you add a few thou to be on the...

    Brake Tube Help!

The hard brake lines have a double flare, the seal is metal to metal, no O-ring. Your nearest brake shop should be able to cut the line back and re-do the flare, should be plenty of line to work with because of the coiled section at the load proportioning valve. I guess there is a stress crack...
