Actually no, but i also had to source and replace the engine in this prado when i got it a few months back. Also had to source a new head.
Just did some modest suspension stuff/new wheels and cleaned it up a bit! Nothing crazy.. been using it for camping this summer, might be letting it go...
Thank you for the info! I am in contact with them right now. Just waiting on the shipping quote. I had originally used a gasket kit from cruiser parts that held up really well. Maybe I’ll just order that as well.
Hey all, I believe my 13bt is in need of sleeves. Does anybody have any experience with the full mag engines kit? Or a source for something trustworthy?

Thanks for the insight! That’s the direction I was thinking as well. Any idea how much of a task it is to fit 3:1 gears? Can it be done at home typically? I do have a mill and a mostly functioning brain lol.
Ohh my bad. It actually is a Toyota 13bt with an a440f and vac operated T case.. all yanked from a scrap bj74 (1986)
And yeah 37s would be ideal. We tend to get a lot of snow in the winter here (Montana) and the 35s don’t get me far.
Mostly is just a trail rig honestly. Little snow every so often. No hardcore wheeling. Would be nice to still drive to the trailheads like i currently do. Would a guy see more benefit from an axle regear or t case gears?
Hey guys, what would be considered required upgrades for some 9.5” bj74 axles if a guy was to switch from 35s to 37s?
Currently they are rebuilt to stock with 4.11s and lockers front and rear on 35x12.5s
Unfortunately I do not have one. Mine just all came back with a clean bill of health. Worst case I will whip something up off the lathe and sandwich it down. Just trying to avoid that if I can!
Does anybody by chance have a Toyota or aftermarket SST they would rent or sell for doing a compression test on a 13bt? (Injector hole test).
I have tried some non conventional methods with rubber gaskets and a block off plate but I’m not certain I’m getting an accurate test completed. Showing...
Gotcha, if there was room in that engine bay I would be looking elsewhere. I saw a couple guys shoehorn 1hz’s in them but I want to retain air conditioning and an auto trans if I can.
