Since it looks like the rear quarter panel group buy https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-owners-club/159819-rear-quater-panel-reproduction-work-under-way.html is going to happen let's see what else folks need!

I know I need the rear tailgate sill. Does anyone else need that and is willing to step up to the plate on a group buy? I'm willing to remove mine and send it off to be copied PROVIDED folks have paid up in advance for the replica.

Any other LV sheet metal needs? I know that treerootCO has made up parts https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-class...ctions-complete-floors-bumpers-tailgates.html and may still have some so we will NOT be making those.

Just so there is no confusion ,this is a group buy where you pay up front BEFORE the parts are fabricated. I can't afford to be an LV parts warehouse and nor can anyone else. If you want the part, be prepared to put your money where your mouth is!

Interested folks PM me so we can get this happening and get a few more of the rare LV's back on the road!

If you need rear quarters you have the next two weeks (basically until Thanksgiving) to let your money tell me you need them. PM me for payment details. After that....

OK everyone! The LV rear quarter panel group buy IS a go!

If you want in I need to have your funds in hand by November 17. Do not delay! I will be forwarding funds to Eshan shortly after that and we CANNOT add to the order once sent. PM me for payment information in order for your payment to arrive by November 17. Do NOT PM me afterwards because I can only handle the stress of one order! If funds are not here by November 17 I'm NOT ordering more, you'll be on your own so good luck!!

FLOORS

Treeroot is out of floors, if there are a few interested parties besides myself we could get a group buy for another run anyone interested?

OK, I'm busy pulling the rear sill from my '45LV. If you have not checked it on your truck yet you may want to. To properly replace the entire sill you'll need to remove it in conjunction with the rear quarters. It would be really difficult to do it with the rear quarters in place.

Yup. LCJ and I noticed that when we started cutting the quarter out of his old LV. Not exactly sure how we're gonna reattach them together on the 'new' LV, but we'll keep you posted.

One thing we're considering. Since we cut the sill loose in the curved arch to the quarter panel, and have some question about the relative strength of the sill to support the tailgate once reinstalled, we're considering building some additional support from the inside of the sill to the frame. After all, if you're gonna take the time to rebuild it, why not make it stronger where you can?

Are you looking to simply re-install the old sill or get a new one? I'm looking to get mine reproduced due to excessive rust and previous damage. If you want more info you can PM me.

I was looking at my sill the other day. I am thinking about inserting a piece of rectangular tubing that would fill the void under the hinges. This piece would be as wide as the tailgate or more. It would allow me to tap screw holes and directly bolt the tailgate to this stronger piece of steel vs. just sheet metal and the plate under it. Then I would add sheet metal as needed to "fill the gap" and you would never know there is a solid piece of steel in there. The only draw back to this is I would then have no adjustibility in the base of the hinge and that could kill the deal.

So is your tailgate sill in rough shape too?

yep. but i think it can be repoped by me with time. of course if the part were being redone by Ehsan and the cost were not too high i would consider it.

Since they need the sill to copy I'll likely be sending it to Paul in Panama and then picking up the new ones myself later this spring. It'll be much cheaper for me to send to Paul then Ehsan. Mine is beyond repair I think. I should have it out in a week or so and then send it on it's way.

Charles, keep us updated, I think I'm due for one also.

did you get my last email about combining the shipping on the other items?

Paul

I'll keep you updated. I'm about to e-mail Ehsan and see where we are. If his last email was accurate we should be close to having the quarters shipped.

Well the sill is finally out. I'm still awaiting Ehsan's response to the rear quarters so I think I'll try this with Paul "lomusass" in Panama.

Here's a few photos of the sill piece that I hope to have reproduced. You may want to check and see if your sill is actually solid or not. I thought mine was OK till I pulled the body off and it is DEFINITELY NOT OK.

hey what are you guys doing as far as suspension on your rigs? i am trying to get a number of people together for a production run of some spring hangers for a shackle reversal that uses factory 40 spring bolts.

 I thought the front end of 45's are the same as 40's?? My LPB is the same, the rear is different.

I'm not doing anything outside of stock other than the drivetrain, disc brakes and A/C, it won't even have a lift. An 'LV is too rare to take out where a shackle reversal would be useful. If it's not a trail for stockers then the 'LV won't see it.

I did use greaseable pins and shackles when re-installing the OEM springs. I'll see how they are for 40+ year old springs once the truck is done.
