Details

Alright, time to part ways with my totally unmodified, bone stock 2010 LX, as my kids have made it clear they could care less about off-roading and just want to go to the beach. The search for an actually stock 19-21 LX or LC begins.

I bought it in 2018 and have been building it up ever since. Now it's pretty much plug and play for anyone that wants to hit the trails. Zero rust, just some caked on mud. The (I think) full list is below, but this thing is triple locked, tundra swapped, on beadlock rock warriors and 37s (that fully clear), and it's still rocking the factory AHC. I've posted a bunch on here about the work I've done, but I'll try to add pictures as I take them. You can now be the party boy or girl that you’ve always wanted to be.

Armor
  • Bud-Built aluminum front, then stainless engine, transmission and transfer case.
  • Slee sliders with AHC protection plates
  • Dissent front bumper (shortened 2” per side to fit 37s)
  • E&E Off-Road rear bumper painted black
  • SDHQ ABS guards (you’re welcome)
  • Comeup 12.5 winch
  • 4 Maxtrax and a storage bag.
Suspension
  • E&E Off-Road rear shock extension
  • OME 10mm rear trim packer
  • OEM 10mm front spacer
  • Trail Tailor billet rear LCAs (with rebuild kit for the bushings and Johnny Joint)
  • Trail Tailor LCA armor (not installed)
  • Tundra front-end conversion with OEM lower/upper arms (AHC bracket tig welded on)
  • Coachbuilder billet OTRE with new heims
  • Spare new OEM Tundra CV
  • 1” body lift, with NST radiator brackets if you want to swap out from my DIY version.
  • BMC, rear pinch weld cut, welded, sealed. Front pinch weld cut, hammered, and sealed.
  • New AHC globes 2024.
  • All shocks replaced within the last 60k, no leaking whatsoever.
  • Rear sway-bar frame bracket drop.
  • I have the front sway bar if you want it, along with heims for end links. LCA was cut and welded for double sheer.
  • Perry Parts bump stops front and rear
Engine
  • Valley plate resealed
  • New Toyota battery February
  • Hewitt SAS bypass module and bypass air valves.
  • Valve covers resealed last year
  • New style radiator
  • Heater core T’s replaced 50k ago or so.
  • Rear main seal replaced last year
  • ARB snorkel. Using heat and sand I molded it, and it matches the A-pillar almost perfectly. Also have a Sy-klone attachment I never used.
  • I’ve been running Amsoil and Advanced Lubrication 5w-30 since I bought it at 110k. Engine runs like a top. New spark plugs around 30k ago.
Drivetrain
  • 4.88 Nitro gears
  • ARB lockers front and rear (front rebuilt this year by ECGS)
  • New driveshafts front and rear
  • ARB single air locker
  • Dirty deeds resonator delete
  • Upgraded to 2016+ OEM front calipers/rotors
  • New front and rear wheel bearings within the last 50-60k miles
  • Transmission replaced February
  • Billet Race Craft diff breather mounted in engine bay.
  • Have a brand new uninstalled ARB purge valve
Electronics
  • Switch Pro 9100 mounted in the ash tray all sneaky like
  • Rigid light bar and fogs on the Dissent bumper
  • KC ditch lights
  • KC rock lights x8
  • New OEM headlights with PPF (no fading)
  • Fully retrofitted MTS/crawl control from 2013-15 model. This included 2013+ gauge cluster, interior switches, and 2013+ brake booster. Used OEM wiring and connectors. None of that t-tap insanity.
  • Nav screen was replaced and then protective filmed. No yellowing. I also have a 2013 nav unit that I was going to play around with retrofitting. You can enjoy that project now.
  • Weboost overland and antenna.
Wheels
  • Rock Warriors x5, converted to beadlocks by OMF. Running 37” KM3s. I also have 37” KO2s that are currently mounted, but can remove from another set of Rock warriors.
  • 1.25 Spidertrax rear, .75” Bora front
  • Core4 lug nuts, the fancy type
Exterior
  • I have a brand new plastic rear bumper skin and the OME rear "lights", step, and brace. Will need to be cut and painted and you’ll have it looking very pretty. My current rear bumper was cut for a swing out.
  • Nasty scratch on the rear from Golden Spike at Moab. It won’t come out, but it definitely wasn’t from a shopping cart at least.
  • Ceramic Coating Silver package done 5/26
  • Land cruiser roof rack
  • JDM window visors.
  • Rago Fabrication windshield washer reservoir so 37s would clear
Interior
  • Upgraded to 2013 carpet with the twist-mat attachments. Also have OEM carpet, OEM all-weather, OEM-trunk, and Husky first 2 rows.
  • Leather is in pretty good shape (no tears), new passenger seat leather, and have full set of Escape seat covers (all 3 rows)
  • Fully tig welded DOM tire carrier that fits a 37, Mac baja tire strap, along with ARB fridge and ARB slide. You can expedition in style. It bolts in and out, and still keeps 3rd row seats.
  • Rear factory entertainment with the remote and 2 headsets in perfect condition because my kids prefer ipads.
  • Cooler box
  • Spare second row cup holder since my animal children broke the bracket. It includes the fancy wood.

The bad:
  • Headliner is beginning to sag. I had it replaced about 5 years ago with some Austin Powers style alcantara. It’ll need to be redone.
  • Steering rack has a very slow leak and the ITRE are shot. I have a new OEM steering rack to put in.
  • Valley-plate leak and possibly timing cover leak. You’re welcome for the rust prevention. I do my oil changes at 3500, and it's never been an issue.
  • Previous owner had some stupid PDR done, so there’s a few small plugged holes on rear door jambs, only visible when opening the doors.
  • When they installed the transmission, they didn’t connect the breather hoses to the factory spot. That needs to be addressed. I have the parts, just wanting on a mounting bracket. Also some heat shields that need to go back on the down pipe. I have those as well.
The good:
  • No rust. Every bolt I've ever touched has been anti-seized and torqued to spec. Working on this is a dream except for the occasional dried mud in the eye.
  • The 37s don't rub
  • You can drive this thing from Florida to Utah, run Hells and Golden Spike, and drive home, all while listening to the roaring hum of mud tires.
