Free Beer!

So I've taken the cruiser under the knife, if anyones got some spare time and wants some free beer they're welcome to come by and help put in my new suspension and fix other random bits and pieces. You can reach me at 884-9466 I'll be working on it over the next week almost all the time until its done after which it'll be time to try it out... so if anyone want to go for a rip through the bush that'll be later in the week!

Hmm well this is off to a good start... diamond plate doesnt seem to match up quite the way it came off of the other cruiser perhaps the body on a 60's cruiser is different then mine? anyway if anyone wants to check out some decent diamond plate and see if it matches up with your cruiser let me know... cheep !

I live out in sannichton... and ya.. its cover plate till I have enough cash saved up for a new tub... i'm thinking of getting an aluminum one in a year or so... just don't wanna get a vi before that.

So seams to be off to a fairly good start, only thing i've had to cut so far is the rear shackle pin on the front passenger side. I imagine I'll probubly have to cut the other ones too... anyone know where I can get new ones?

anybody have a belt sander or a drill press? i need to make a few "adjustments" to some parts since it seems that these leaves I'm putting in came out of a newer landcruiser...

Thanks for the offer... I got ahold of a buddy who had a belt sander and got that part done. But one thing leads to another and it appears that The frame pins I'd salvaged off my old truck ages ago won't work for this like I hoped they would. The problem that I have is that while they are the right size for the shock bushing they are the wrong size for the frame mount. So far I've cut the two front ones as I couldn't get them out since I don't have a torch. If anyone has any ideas that'd be great.

Hmm well things seem to have taken a turn for the better apparently walking into a machine shop full of students at camosun and yelling "who wants free beer" will get things machined for you in a hurry....

well front leaves are almost back in just have to put the shackles I just got machined into the front of them... then its on to the back

Fronts done sits about 4.5 inches higher must have been pritty sad shape before since they're only supposed to be 2.5 inch lift... also I imagine that it will be sagging some after the springs get used to having weight on them

Ooops... I didn't even register the spring dimensions and you truck year when I sold those to you... my bad. But it seems like you're making it happen. Good on you.

Those springs will settle a little bit but not too much... Check your shackle angel as you my want an extended shackle to offset the shorter (more arched) spring.

I have a spare set of the back shackle if I need it.... also in other news i just got out of the hospital as I took a zip disk to the leg... I got to see my tendons working! Any help would be appreciated as I can barly walk now!

also does anyone have a torch they could bring by? the one shackle bolt in the back is good and stuck in the rubber and doesn't wish to come out....

i have a cutting rig....i gotta go get my oxygen filled but i could probably bring the whole rig to school one day...if that would help

Thanks for the offer, it might help I mostly need to get the back end back together. I have 1 side completly apart and one side untouched... If the other side in the back is the same a torch would be pritty handy... need to get the cruiser back together since its on the landlords driveway. I got that one stubbern pin out with a good bashing... Amazing that I can still do work with enough pain killers...

Well its almost done. Just have to replumb the back brakes and find that 1 frame pin that dissipated... or make a new one. I'll try and dig out my camera to take some pictures.
