I would be careful with the word frame off, this 45 is no where near that quality, looks like the rusty floors and under dash are all over spray? also looks like rattle can quality paint. Another import that has been quickly fixed for resale, whats hiding under that paint is anybodys guess! glws

There is no rust on the floors. The work was done by the previous owner who restores Land Cruisers because he enjoys doing it and is good at it. So no this wasn't quickly fixed for resale. It was completely taken off the frame and every piece was taken apart, inspected, cleaned, and replaced if needed. The pictures actually don't even do justice to how amazing this truck looks in person.

I love the quality of the 2 bolts on the hinges. Why would anyone in their right mind put 3 on there? Thats just CrAzY! He should of painted the pieces while they were apart. To spray a master cylinder matching red takes a lot of talent. To tape it up takes even more. I would consider taking it to the local preschool and give the kids some paint. Maybe they can do some touchups.

So it's missing a few bolts here and there.......

Seems that the folks in Central and South America don't get it--some of us gringos do notice more in their far-off photos of a quick bondo and spray job. It's like when you drive past a hooker, you just know there's something skanky going on under that thick coat of red lipstick and miniskirt.

With this kind of careful attention to detail, you know you're in good hands sending your $25,000 to Colombia, sight unseen, right? Western Union, anyone?

It would be interesting to actually see clear BEFORE photos of what they start with.
Maybe their fellow countrymen expect to see a gussied-up pig when they go car shopping, but think of the hours of labor to undo one of these once, or if, it ever gets here.

I've noticed lately there are a bunch of these coming into Florida and Texas--with the same basic overblown putty-and-paint jobs. I'm sure they have some value, but are Americans that foolish to believe the foreign hype? Is there really a market here for this worn-out stuff?

I would prefer these trucks are sold as found, original, beat up, used as intended! The seller just doesnt realize the level of quality restorations that pop up here in the states, sell it for 25k in costa rica?? The former green troopy with the fresh paint probably is still really green under that new paint. These are rare left hand diesels, but you are better off selling them as found for $5k and you can still make money because these are $2500 trucks down there. My former truck on ebay didnt sell at 20k, and i spent 40k and 5 years doing a FRAME OFF! Just rubs a nerve i guess.

That is not a frame off restoration, and it is not complete.

It upsets me that you continually miss represent what you are selling. Furthermore, if this is a business for you (as it seems to be) start your own website. You are not, in my opinion, using this free forum as it was intended to be used. You have provided no participation other than to forward your own business needs.

Bottom line is top lying to us, or go away.

Buyer be ware: please research other threads by this user to understand what you are getting into.

I really am not sure what to put the price at. I asked a knowledgeable "cruiser head" for some insight on price and he didn't know either. And no that is not true, saying the trucks down here were $2,500...geez, I wish! They are quite a bit more than that. Yes I am working on a website, but I see plenty of other people post their cruisers for sale here. I thought that was what this forum was for. I have to click"classified" to get to this forum

Ambrew,
I am not trying to misrepresent my trucks for sale here. The original owner told me he did a complete frame off restoration. I took his word for it because to me, it looks gorgeous, and that he did the work he told me he did. Did he do a $8k paint job? No. Spend $40k to do it? I doubt it. But to an untrained eye as mine and my husband's as I explained in a previous forum, we don't know. Of course if I post them here all of you experts will surely tell me.

You have so many Land Cruisers you should be much better at inspecting these . Don't play dumb. You are picking up these pretty paint jobs with so much over spray and calling it a frame off. You want my option, get these things to the states and register them, and then have them inspected by a cruiser shop with a good reputation and sell them for what they are worth. Your one reference you mentioned only did you more harm and whining that you contacted a lawyer is in line with all the other monkeys flinging their poo. Step up or get out of here.

Angel,
you are looking at these through eyes that see "pretty", same as most buyers. they buy veneer trucks.
i want you to take a look at this truck that came up for SA. sure is pretty eh?

South American frame off restoration at its finest.

of course once Angel does find that rare real gem, most of us would bitch at how much it would cost.

I am seriously considering getting you a plane ticket here to educate us. I think $500 would get you a round trip. I have never claimed to know much, so I would appreciate the chance to learn.

This is a free site maintained by donations and paid advertisement. It is not a free site for someone to promote their business. Most vendors here have contributed both in time and helpful advice as well as in financial donations. Even then, they do not post their every item for sale here.

Whether you are trying to misrepresent your trucks or not, I don't care. The fact is, you are.

I would hate for anyone to buy a truck from you with the endorsement of using this site to legitimise the sale. This is a site for the betterment of the land cruiser community. You are not participating in it when you misrepresent trucks to potentially increase their sale price.

You want to educate yourself? Take one of your trucks, bring it to a reputable land cruiser shop, wait 6 months to a year, and pay the bill. You will then know what a "complete frame off restoration" means, and how to represent your trucks accordingly.

Crushers: let me know if ever you go down there, I'll pay you a finder's fee for a diesel 45.

okay, so I read through part of the thread..it's a looong thread. Anyway, in a word I would say it's perfect. Very clean, with no issues that I can see. It looks like it was recently painted. But what makes it rare?

edit:
the post above, post 120? and read what i found wrong with the truck, it is near the end of the thread.
report back your feelings on what i found.
