Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I lean towards steel

Looks like any synthetic @ 100ft. length is gunna be way over budget, not to mention having to buy two new fair leads as this winch will most likely be mounted behind the rear axle

Trying to keep it under a $100 bucks

Yeah, you can't beat cable for price and it really is tough. I just don't like being around when it breaks.
