Fortunately, I wasn't the culprit. It was backed into by a Tundra towing a trailer with a brand new Tundra on it. The driver didn't see the spotter waving his arms to stop until it was too late.

The hitch receiver of the towed Tundra lined up with my LH headlight (the formerly good one), and the bumper also made contact with my hood.
I had the radiator out, and was planning on installing the new one after work today, so the grill was already off, and the hood was ajar.
Now the radiator is in, so the next stop will be the body shop.:bang:

Sucks man. I read your other post. Bad luck in the lot huh? Antenna mod and now this. Oh and you just fixed the other head light too. :frown:

You've got to be kidding...

On the bright side, I have a decent stock bumper that you can have, should you need it.

Could have been a lot worse. Did they pay for the damages?

They will.

Ouch! Looks like a new hood, light, and ARB bumper will be on order soon.

Steve

Or Shortbus..or custom.

Yeah, I need to update my other thread with more info about that light. Basically, it was damaged in shipping, I tried epoxy, but it didn't hold. Right now, it's held on by the 2 lower bolts and the surrounding trim. So, I actually wish it had been that light that was broken.:frown:

I may have to take you up on the bumper, the condition of mine gets on my nerves at times.:crybaby:

The impact forces traveled through the front end and broke the other light. Umm...yeah....that's the ticket! :hhmm:  :hillbilly:

My stock bumper with a winch behind it received a trail mod, and looked very similar to yours, so I know what it is like. But, I was given one for free from a local 'Mudder to replace mine; instead, I made a last-minute decision to build my own. :hillbilly:

Just email or PM when you want it. It is in good shape, minus a clip or two for the chrome trim piece.

That sucks Donal! SInce it happened at the dealership, doesn't thier insurance cover crap like that also?

Yes, and it was a dealership employee who did it.

Dealer Damage

I walked into a dealership one afternoon to pick my 80 up after service, and the service manager met me at the door. He said "Sir, please walk with me". I thought, OOOps, something is not right.

They had dropped my 80 off of a lift, tore off the left front fender, bent the wheel, broke the birf seal, mangled the front bumper.

He was waiting for me to explode, and I asked if they would fix it, new wheels all around (so they matched) new paint to match, new axle service to check everything out, and he was so happy to not be bleeding he agreed to all of it. Loaned me a nice 3/4 ton Ford pickup to do some heavy hauling also.

I took it in several more times, but they caught on and did not drop it again, darn it. I always got great service after that, for sure, and discounts for parts - they knew I would call CDan if they did not.

Stuff happens. Mine worked out fine. Press them a bit. Fort Worth Toyota stood up for it like a good company should. They are still too expensive, but all dealerships are.

Regarding the last post, it's not so easy to ask for extras, since I work at the dealer too. They also know what condition it was in before, and I'm not going to lie about it.

On the bright side, this is finally getting resolved. At the body shop.
