Yeah, I know………it’s not a Toyota and you’ll probably never have to use the thing.

But, just in case you have to jump start someone’s Jeep after dark it’s nice to have.

The trouble light comes on any early to mid-90’s GM Truck or SUV, can be bought on e-bay as well.

Has a 16’ retractable cord and a manual on/off switch. Mounts easily in the area shown in the upper right hand corner of pic.

That's a great idea. I know some other guys have mounted lights on the hood. This seems to be an easier install, plus it has the cord.

Your truck would probably run better if you had a little dust in the engine bay!

Flippin double that!

That is one clean engine bay - do you actually ever drive the truck?

On the serious side, how do you keep it so clean? Frequent washing of the bay? What do you use?

looks nice , did you use a gm plug as well?

It is driven everyday about 50 miles. She's got about 150,000 miles on her now.

No, I don't do anything special to keep it clean and the engine bay gets sprayed down about twice a year. We definitely have "dust" here in East Texas, not to mention....I live on a Working Cattle Ranch.

If you buy a Cruiser "in the south" (no snow, salt, etc...) they tend to be a lot nicer than ones up north (unless from the coast). I am always amazed at the pics. posted here of cruisers with rusty bolts, frames, tired looking engine bays and such. This thing is 10 years old, runs fine and still looks great.

It is my wifes DD, but it isn't a mall cruiser by any means.

 Dang it Flintknapper! Here I thought I was the only special one with that light!

I got it off my old pickup, where did you get yours? I looked online for a couple of weeks, but couldn't find one, which is why I cannibalized my truck. I like your setup better though.:D

They are on ebay all the time, here is one right now:

eBay Motors: 1990's Chevy Pick Up Underhood Work Light No Reserve (item 360016412057 end time Jan-29-08 16:23:56 PST)

Easiest way to find one...is to go to your local junk yard. If you want a really nice one, I am sure a dealer could still get them.

The light comes with the Chebby cause unlike a yota, you'll need it :o

Yeah, and it has a 16' foot cord.

That... tells me that either GM was being especially "thoughtful", or that they expected trouble to come from anywhere on the vehicle.:D

At least the light is of decent quality. My LC did "withdraw" a little when I tried to install the part, but I got it on there anyway.;)
