I know this thread needs pics but I have what appears to be an outlet plug on the back of my 60 center console. It is two prongs that appear to be the same size and look like they could accept maybe something like a Toyota accessory light or something. It has wires running to, but from where I dont know. It all looks factory. And yes I used the search function...

i dont recall ever seeing that on mine. is it right on the console or kinda under it or what?

it is right on the back of the center console mounted just about in the middle.

gotta be a PO add-on

see if it has power? maybe you can do something cool with it like a maplight or something

I'm betting on a PO genius install of a trouble light socket. Tell me where I can get one - my trouble light doesn't reach far enough.

It has wires running to it, I imagine it's hot. It seems like the two holes are too close together for regular electrical plugs.

yah i bet if you can get a pic up someone will know exactly what it is capable of

I guess I'll walk outside and snap one in a minute.

here's the pic. And yes I forgot to put the right screw back in

I had an outlet just like that underneath the dash on the right side in my old 60. The 60 came with a small lamp from the PO that was great for camping or any other lighting needs. If you can find the lamp it is nice to have.

dude. youre console goes all the way to the floor!!! @&@&@&@& me!!! i didnt know they did that mine has a space. i wonder if mines from a 62 then with room for the heater or something.

it looks like a regular plugin in the picture

Just a quick reminder for those with brains larger than my own. That plug is for a 12V trouble light, like those sold here:

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/coolfj40/ligemtroubli.html

If you take that said trouble light and try to test the bulb by inserting said plug into a 110 socket / regular household socket the trouble light bulb will explode. I know....sometimes I amaze myself about what it takes to learning something new.

The trouble lights are still available from Toyota IIRC... for about $30 with discount. Very handy little buggers to have around too!

A PO add on.

That's identical to the 12V power socket under the glove box of an FJ60. The factory trouble light should plug right in.

Is there an echo in here?:)

I always wondered what that was since I didn't know that It was only a 12V I never that that it worked. I tried pluging my phone charger on there, no wonder it never charged :( Gonna have to pick me up one of those trouble lights.
