Steering Slop - another source

I am in the midst of putting FJ-60 power steering on my 40.

While swapping columns from 40 to FJ55 columns, I discovered another source of slop on the FJ40 columns (9/72 to 84)

The bushing # 47 in this picture:

was pretty worn out and oblong in my column...

The difficult part about R & R'ing this bushing is that you will have to remove the bearing that is held up at the lock cylinder.

The bearing is maintained in place by two snap-rings - PITA...

I'd buy the bearing Kurt sells for his powersteering swap to replace that part. You would have to sand out the inside of the bearing to get it to fit but it would make a much better replacement.

Sure enough - much better option!
