Hello, I just picked this 40 up from Lynnwood, WA. It's undergone a frame off resto. Anybody know anything about this one? I've got piles of receipts and all the pictures of the restoration. Although, I did buy it without looking at it so obviously I'm a little nervous. Any info would be much appreciated. I'll post more pics this week when I get it. Thanks

Looks nice, you need some more pictures. Is the front bezel upside down?

nice

Great looking 40. What year?

That is a sharp looking 40. I do not what you paid but you did good. Any more pics?, eng compartment, inside, back??

I will have more pics this week. It seems to be the real deal.

Agreed...I don't want to talk about what I paid. However, after I bought it the people I bought it from called and asked me if I wanted to sell it for my money back plus 6500.00....which made me feel less stupid. Although, my thought is that they aren't going down in value.

I didn't want to restore one on my own, I wanted it faster then that. I have 3 kids under 8 yrs old so extra time is not on my side.

More pics to follow.

Thanks for all the kind words. Just hope it's as good as the pictures look.....

What is the back story on this sight unseen purchase. Was this a planned purchase or more spontaneous like the rest of the stable that you own?

Speaking of your stable of awesome Toyota rigs... Have you added or sold any from your collection.

Congrats on what looks to be a great 40=

Emissions

Great looking truck - but.....

This truck has been greatly desmogged - and the two circled hoses must be plugged immediately. The front one (on the upper part of the air cleaner) is letting unfiltered air into the intake (unless it's plugged in a manner we cannot see). I'm not positive, but the rear hose (also circled) may be doing the same. The front hose is supposed to supply clean air to the air pump (also missing). I also see what appear to be exhaust headers and no preheater 'stove' to send warm air to the bottom of the air cleaner in the winter. The carb. looks remarkably free of hoses - wonder if it's a non-emission carb of some vintage?

Thanks for seeing that. I will look into this as soon as it gets here. Good thing it's coming to KS and we don't have any smog testing....... What is a pre-heater stove? Can that be put back on?

i see on their website that is comes with an FST as well?

thats really cool... do you know where they got the top made? this one is interesting

Yes, the soft top and rear metal panel come with the truck as well. Although, I will probably never use either...... They look to be really nice.
