Hi guys I'm usually over in the 70 forum as I have a LJ78. I saw this cruiser back in the bush a few weeks ago and I'm wondering what it is. And if I could put it on a 75 chassis or a troupe chassis. I love the look of it and I'm sure the village would give it to me if I wanted it

Appears to be a 4X series troopy of some kind with a pickup cap added. There was a thread a few years back in the 45 section about if this were made at the factory by Toyota or make up later by someone else.

I agree with livinginthepast.

Not a 45 swb as there is no division between the cab and box. Maybe a MWB.

The vin would tell us the story.

Give a gift to the village and rid them of that eye sore.

You won't regret it.

the bib sorta looks to be 79 or later troopy for sure. it also has the windshield motor on the bottom
and late model doors with the wing window.

It has a tub not a box I would say it is a modified cab on it , troopy by the looks of the distance between the door and the front wheel well.

Chances are a 2F engine, H41 4speed transmission and the 4speed transfer case would bolt right in....assuming the stock driveshafts are still hanging underneath. Too hard to see if the axles, etc. are still there.

That wheelbase gives you some driveline options, but if you are looking to bolt up to existing motor mounts, the above is a good starting point....assuming the motor mounts are still there, and the frame isn't toast, and........

I will be going back in the area this weekend so I will get a closer look where should I look for identification? As long as its not raining and this river crossing isn't to high!

Hi Matt, here in P.N.G. It's Toyota land 9 out of 10 vehicles are toyotas. 77,78,75, hiaces, coasters, hiluxs, 80, the odd 60 and the new 76. This is yota land.

The motor is there and trans/tc as well. The front axle housing and diff are present but no knuckles or steering linkage.

It definitely has some rusted out spots but not as bad as I thought.

That's a good question. I think we will take it all apart, the guys will carry it down to the river, where I can pick it up with the big truck!
