After 3 years of building, a few $$$, and countless hours reading and getting ideas on mud, my project is finally on the road. Notice I didn't say "done"....

It's a 1978 that I had to do a lot of cancer removal on. It now sports a 5.3L Vortec, NV4500 5 spd, Orion 4:1, FJ60 power steering, 35 inch old school MTR's and on and on.

I haven't posted on here a lot or asked a lot of questions, but the information I got from reading the posts here was invaluable - and some of the people on here do work that is truly inspirational! Thanks to all you mud folks!

No plans to do a build thread, but do have plenty of pictures and would be happy to offer advice to anyone tackling a similar project.

I guess the next project will be to update my sig line...

A few more.

I'll apologize up front if I don't respond right away... don't get too much time on here right now - which is good actually!;p

Dang... That's one nice looking 40. I'm dreaming of the day mine looks that nice and I've had mine 20 years.

Nicely done

Congrats...

That looks great, enjoy driving it while mine sits in the garage!!! It looks terrific, drive the piss out of it

Hi All:

Nicely done Boysrus!

Regards,

Alan

Way to go! I can relate, as our '72 took over three years as well. And I bet I got a good idea how much $$ you got in her. Don't tell the :princess:!

Awesome work and great color! I actually have been sitting on a few gallons of a similar color for the past year from Ace. For what I am going to be using my 76 for I thought it best to do the Ace paint job. Again nice work and it is great to see what mine would look like all painted (sort of).

Somehow, she knows. So anytime new furniture, or shoes, or.... comes up, all I can do is bite my tongue! You probably know that...

But, she's been very supportive and now takes it out to drive it on her own - which is fine with me!

Nick - it should! I think it was your build that I first saw the color, and knew from then what color mine would be! I get lots of compliments on it - I'm sure you do too.

So thanks for the inspiration!

mydogpea, I'm lucky in a number of respectsm actually: not a lot of money, but enough to do this, my wife who supported me in doing (as in, she let me spend the money....), and some time to do it. I dreamed of doing a build like this for 30 years before I got to tackle it!

Thanks for all the compliments. It's not as nice as a lot of the work I've seen on Mud and Pirate, but I'm happy with it and I learned a LOT!
