On Tuesday I picked up my '99 LC from Metaltech. It's now sporting their new sliders for the 100 series, plus Total Chaos upper control arms and Radflo remote reservoir shocks. Mark, L.T., and the rest of the gang at Metaltech have put together a very nice set of sliders, so take a look at the upgrades!

Metaltech - 2

Metaltech designed these to be similar in appearance to the ones for the FJ. Look closely and you will see that the main body of the slider isn't square tubing, but a formed piece of steel with internal bracing. The hardware is all Grade 8.

Metaltech - 3

The second two photos show the additional travel due to the Total Chaos upper control arms and Radflo shocks. With the 100's every little bit helps. The tire is about 10mm off the ground in these photos.

Radflo Shocks

The Radflo shocks are pretty sweet. The rod on these things is 7/8" in diameter. They are completely rebuildable and adjustable. I hadn't realized how much stiction there was in the OME shocks until these went on. Small bumps are imperceptible, while still maintaining a controlled ride. On the highway, the handling is much improved; the wallowing that was present with the OME shockes is gone.

Sweet setup, the guys at MT do great work. What size tires are you running? Im guessing the UCAs make a big difference, I know they did on my FJ when I added them...totally got rid of the hwy sway? Whats up with the zip ties?

Zip Ties?

I think L.T. at Metaltech was keeping the brake hoses from flopping around. The tires are Goodyear MT/Rs 275/70-18. 35's and 4.88s are in the future along with an ARB front locker to replace the 2 spider front diff. I can't say for sure how much the UCAs change the on-highway ride. The shocks are amazing. The road from Newberg, OR, where Metaltech is located, to Hillsboro is about 19 very twisty miles. I used to dread driving the LC over it because it would wallow like a drunk sailor. The upgrades have made a world of difference. The truck takes a set into a turn and frankly feels better than my wife's Lexus.

It looks great, which wheels are you running?!? Tundra steelies?

I fitted TC arms from Metaltech, to my 100 the other day.
When they are in your hands, you know they are quality.
What measurement do you get at full stretch between the center of the hub and the guard with those shocks?

Looks really good!

Do you know what the sliders are going to retail for? MetalTech's site doesn't have the sliders up yet. Those just might find themselves on my 100 ;-)

Looks great. The sliders are different. Glad MT decided to make theirs different. These have just moved up tothe top of my list pending the price point.

In the second post, first picture, how the sliders mount to the frame... I'm guessing it's just picture angle, but those mounting points/u-bolts.. are they tucked away as to not retain damage from rocks and such?

Also, for anyone else, do these stick out a little more than the wkor sliders? by the pics, it looks like they might. I think i like this a little better.

I should have measured it when I took the photos. I'll put it back on the jack and see what I get and let you know.

I don't know the retail price, but they have some ready to ship, so give them a call.

I had this slider design on my 80. It is the best design on the market for protection although they are heavy! Prices should be in line with Slee.
The rear bends stick out a little more for better quarter panel protection.

The MT design makes using these sliders as a step difficult espescially for children as the gap between the slider and body is somewhat wide. I like Slee's design better based on this feature. But for folks w/o the small kiddos, the MT design is awesome.
