Just wondering what the thoughts are using a fj60 frame as the base for a fj45.
Thinking I will turn my 40 into a 45.
Logistics if it is too much work changing things , what can be involved and if the 60 series frame is strong enough.
The pros and cons of such a possibility ?

been done look at the d'animal build, wheel base is within a inch of the short wheel base, fj55 frame will also work..

You'd be a lot better off with an 80 series frame, coils and better engines.

fj80 frame is alot--lot--lot more work, doing one now with a fj45 cab, nothing fits and you have to make all new fenders, due to the excess width, fj55 would be the easiest..

I am doing a 55 frame for my extended 45 tub, I also extended the frame 12" to make it 118 wheel base. I will have to redo all the mounts however with the cab mods I would of had to do it anyway. The 55 frame in my book is a stronger platform with no holes in the inside of the frame like the 40, good luck....

my 'Project 16' is on a 60 frame. it's gonna be some fab work no matter which way you go. nothing is impossible with $ and time...often more of one than the other. :D
