Was working fine on a 1hdft, took 5min or so to warm up.

Overnight, as soon as the key turned it went straight to operating temp (when cold). Nothing else has changed.

Has coolent ect,

I replaced the sensor and cleaned contacts but the exact same problem.

Is it a cluster problem or anything else I can look at?

Cheers

I'd suspect the sensor. Not sure what the FSM might give as specs, but check for the sensor complying with them.

I mention I replaced it with a brand new sensor. Same issue
You didn't mention you replaced the sensor. You said you replaced the gauge. The gauge is in the instrument panel, the sensor is on the engine. The sensor tells the gauge what to display. I would follow @greentruck 's advice.

Oh yeah sorry my fault.

Was too early morning.

Fixed up.

Sensor is replaced… I haven’t pulled the gauge out yet…

I may try disconnecting at temp see what it does
