Hi Guys I need to clear up a few questions, but first is the back ground.
I had a spare Toyota Alternator in the shed, internet search tells me its a Toyota crown limosine Alt. I also had a spare voltage regulator brand new kicking around, so instead of replacing the origanal Alt I made a couple of brackets and I now have twin altenators twin battery's(both stand alone with the possability of hooking them up in case of emergency)

the regulator is an ELECMAN DNC 12-2 with the following wiring:
red on white to Lamp.............I know this one
white on black to ignition ......... easy
black to ground.......... ok:)
blue to condensor........ have to find one of those
black on white to field ?????????
white to battery ???????
yellow to neutral
ok so the first 4 are easy but my questions are:

yellow to neutral- Is this the negative side of the alt output?
black on white to field- Is this the positive in to the alt(exciter wire)?
white to battery I not sure of this one. The B post on the alt goes to the battery no? through fuses ect. all the current can't flow through this little cable.

Any help would be much appreciated, I want to go wheeling tomorrow 15hrs:steer:

You only really need 3 VR wires to run an alternator.
1. Key on power to the VR.
2. Field wire from the VR to the F terminal of the alternator.
3. The VR ground (sometimes a wire, sometimes the metal case of the VR)
4. It is a good idea to have a ground wire between the VR ground and alternator case, so make it 4 wires.

The B+ post wire goes to the battery. It is good practice for this wire to have a fusible link.
