So my radiator started leaking pretty severely, so it needed to be replaced. I replaced it with an OEM radiator, but there was a big difference. The new radiator didn't have an area to cool the transmission fluid. Thankfully, I already had a small transmission cooler, so I just routed it to that instead.
A while back, when I had someone add the transmission cooler, they also added a temp gauge. The temp gauge lasted all of 2 days before not working anymore. I have been checking things with a multimeter and found at least 2 of the wires were utterly useless. It is also not very easy to test the sensor/sensor wire. So, I am thinking of going a bit of a different route.
I am thinking I can put a flow/temp sensor in line with the trans fluid hose that is going to the trans cooler. So that brings me to a few questions.
Is this a good idea? Has anyone done this before and been successful? Looking for comments or suggestions. Thanks
