I had been mildly searching around for a serious tow vehicle that could tow my sailboat (22 ft Hunter)with ease over mountains, etc. possibly down o the Keys at some point, but really didn’t think I’d find anything so quickly. Stars aligned and a day before my 47h birthday I bought this one owner crew max from Texas.

This was for sale at an equipment dealership an hour and a half away from where I live. The story goes he bought it at auction from a farmer in Texas that was retiring along with a couple other domestic trucks. It was treated like a truck, has some dents and dings here and there from use and hail, 145,000 miles.

I lifted her up to take a look underneath and it’s really hard to believe this is a 2011.

I plan to monitor maintenance and mods with this thread and I’ll now have a daily driver while I continue to upgrade my 98 100 series.

Underside is pretty minty, need to power wash the frame channels and spray fluid film as my first order of business. Also need to replace boogered up screw on center cap on the front wheel.

Looks clean. I'd get some used factory wheels on that truck ASAP... them dollar-tree specials look....underwhelming :)
I've been sipping coffee this morning and searching for some.....can't stand the chrome look. They have new no name cheap tires on them from walmart or something. I'm not in a hurry though, I'll wait until a good deal comes along.

Passenger tail light had a crack and was missing a chip out of the upper red section. Replaced with identical unit from HeadlightsDepot, very nice replacement. Came with new harness and bulbs. Little pricey but high quality from Taiwan.

Running boards will be 86'd this afternoon, even if the one was not broken at the end, can't stand the look of these things.

Nice find, Gen 2's are the best, the only the Gen 2.5 have going for it is the facelift.
