Awesome work!! Love the front and rear bar work. You've got to be a Boily as only WE could turn out work like that? I'm doing a similar rear bar on my FJ73. Can't seem to find the Big Bear Claw latches you've used. Do you have a web site I could look at or know anywhere I could buy them?? Cheers

Wired up the winch. Had to redo all the wires as the old setup was too short.

Mounted indicators in the bumpers as I covered the factory ones with the swing away hinges. Will be going for Registration today.

Welded a mounting plate on the inside edge.

Straigthened the lo 2/4 shifter. as after the body lift it was hitting the body and wasnt letting me get past neutral.

also cut bent and re-welded the shifter too, it was almost on the floor in reverse.

Gave the area a bit of a birthday , the gaitor was just floating there, they butchered this whole area for the conversion, not super happy with it but it will do for now.

Built a carrier for dual batteries.
I used the factory one as a base to mount the sheet metal surround.
I used the second factory hanger on the other end.

Nice FJ73!, you are giving me a lot of ideas for my own. I am jealous of your V8 because my still has the lowly 3F engine.

Went for a little outing yesterday.
Everything worked out really well. Temps all round were good. Drivabilty is good crawling in high 1st.
Feels so much more planted in H4.

Even got stuck a few times. And christened the rear bar with its first rescue, by a delica to boot.

Added a plug locator/catch to the wheel side. Just to take out a little wobble it had. Also tightened all the bolts which helped.

Have noticed a few leaks from the radiator so decided on an upgrade,
Took a chance on an ebay alloy radiator and must say im very impressed with the finish, lets hope she performs as well as it looks.
Its a 75 1hz radiator so should be up to the challenge.
The outlets are the wrong way around so plumbing will have to be a bit creative.
Touted to be 30% cooler than standard.

the old 15in setup, One of my most disliked materials is checker plate,

20150826_182916_zpscb4qqr0g.jpg

and the new, raised of the back face to aid flow through on the whole radiator.
Will cap the top and bottom to help with the fan draw through.

Found some time to do the Radiator swap,
While I was in there I removed all the air con lines and cleaned up another bunch of cable, re ran/tucked the winch cables.

The lower rubber mounts didnt line up with the hole as its a HJ75 radiator, so I just through bolted in instead.

Seems to be working spot on , warm up time has been greatly reduced , thanks to having a thermostat. Fans turning on as usual at 80 degrees and temp cylced around there.

IMG_6788_zpssufkuwoy.jpg

Cant say replaced the thermostat because there wasnt one in there before.

IMG_6804_zpsdm1omjxp.jpg

bottom hose. Will build a custom one for the top at some stage just could bring myself to break the hose/sender seal again.

IMG_6805_zpsrjbpzpgx.jpg

Pretty tidy with rubber bends anyhow.

Exhaust was next on the cards,
Picked up a 3" Hooker box and some 3"pipe a flange and a 180 Bend.
The headers had a nice long merge pipe with dual 2"so the new system was fairly short and pretty straight forward.
