I have a 24V BJ41 and want to replace a failed blower fan motor. The part number at toyodiy is 87104-60141 and toyotaonlineparts.com has a "replacement" on sale for $79.32.

Is the same motor used for both 24V and 12V systems and do I need make sure to move a resistor or something from the original assembly?

Thanks,
John

I have a similar (but different) resistor on my 12V BJ40 blower motor:

I believe that's what's used to drop the speed for the lower speed setting.

Have your tried sourcing the 87104-60200 24V version? (Cold spec LHD)

Perhaps it's adaptable/interchangeable?

Probably just worn brushes. The problem comes if it's left too long it takes out the commutator too and then your done.

I fixed my blower last year using brushes from a stand alone 12v fan.

That reminds me to get some spares from an electric motor rebuilder.

I have the one off my 41 on a shelf in the garage if you can't find one.

FYI, I think that the updated Toyota part is still available -- 87104-60120

When I search the Toyota database on that number it comes up as the blower motor for a right-hand-drive FJ55 (which would be 12V and may be different in other respects too)
