I have a 2015 200 series with 98k. I posted another thread over the weekend on a timing chain tensioner noise. Thanks to the great folks on this forum for weighing in.

I’m now looking to go to 5w-20, which is what the owners manual says you can go to if 0w-20 isn’t available. Is it better to go with 5w-20 or or 5w-30 like many on the boards are running? Again, hoping to address the tensioner noise.

Also, will this change my oil pressure? I’ve noticed my gauge typically rides at or just a hair below 1/4 unless I’m accelerating in which case it goes to 1/2. Does that sound right?

Also any thoughts on using additives? I’m hesitant to use sea foam.

5W-30 is my vote. There’s a thread on here with many posts about it.

It’s normal for the oil pressure to be at the quarter gauge under idle. Accelerating gets it to just under half.
