Test flex on a 3.5' hill. Was completely stable, no problem...had more to go, all 4 on the ground:

Yes. They are the normal length LCAs

Ran a few trails today...front end it MUCH stronger. I purposely put myself in a bad spot to see how well it held up, and it did, well. I will see if I can get the video (when the dude posts it). I was goofing around and it worked well.

Im in there somewhere :p

This is the one where I was playing around...it is stiffer and definitely tougher.

Videos unavailable :(

Should work now.

nope

well, I posted as public so, oh well.

What made you go with stock length LCAs instead of going with longer arms? I know you would have needed extended CVs and the longer UCAs as well, so I certainly get that it would have cost more. But is there any advantage that you were looking for other than strength over the stock LCAs?

I'm thinking about TC's 2" mid travel arms, removing the fenders and running the tires you've got. Do you see any major roadblocks with doing that? Would you have to cut the fenders any?

Thanks,
Jerome

There is no "stock length" LCA...it is the 2". You dont have to cut fenders. I didnt go true LT because it is another $2-3k to do it right once you get the axles, etc.

I see. I was confused by your comment that you had the "normal length LCAs" and the stock Toyota axles. Based on that, I thought you had the #86500 LCAs which are stock length (list here on TC's website).

It sounds like you have the 2" long travel kit, but on that product page it says "TC 4340 custom extended axles reuse factory inner and outer CV's to retain 4wd. (axles are sold separately and not included with the kit)". Did you not have to use those?

Did you just use spacers on the rear in order to get the track width to match the 2" wider on the front then?

Thanks,
Jerome

You don't need axles with those arms... Just the 3.5" kit

Updated the first post summary with current stuff. Broke a tooth on my rear ring gear on a gravel road (HA!) after a day of wheeling, go figure. Upgrade time!

Shakedown yesterday went well offroad:

Great stuff! Love the added travel up front....

Front range off-road made this axle housing for fj and 4th gen 4runner. It uses the 9.5" LC third member and it's a direct replacement for stock axle

Yep. If I go that way I will do both front and rear at the same time...go big or go home.
