Picked this up earlier this year... guy said "it ran last year, doesn't want to start now"... but I am now very doubtful of that.
Initial plans were to just pull all of the extra stuff off of it (crash bar, luggage rack, etc), put on a set of clubmans and a café seat and have a cheap toy.
Well
Coming home:
Yanked the extras:
Went with drag bars instead of clubmans... still not sure if this was the right choice
Next to my CB125S for scale:
Tank was super rusty inside, so I pulled that... and saw the wiring harness was a complete rat's nest, so I pulled that and ordered a replacement on eBay
Built a $25 table to work on and save my back...
and you know what happened next
Go big or go home, right?
Started cutting and grinding. Removed the passenger peg hoops, ground down a lot of tabs and hooks and stuff I wouldn't be using anymore. Sanded and smoothed
Scored a much nicer tank on eBay and threw that one for a test fit and to make myself feel like I was building something instead of destroying it
Scored a set of CL175 scrambler pipes to mount up high instead of below the footpegs
and... off to powdercoat!
That's where I'm at right now. Stuck at the hardest part... deciding on a color combo!
