these side protectors probably the most difficult part to get to fit right on my warped work bench.

made a little progress

made the caps for the side protectors, tacked clevis mounts in place that have a bar welded to them that passes through notches in main beam to the frame brackets. 1 1/2 thick mega spindle from a to z fab passes through bumper welded on inside and top and bottom. a to z says 1250 spindle is rated for up to 37" tire. i am gonna trim excess of spindle off the bottom. notched reciever into bumper.

Great job so far!

Pretty welds. One thing I miss about using my arc welder over a mig, you get just as strong welds, but no where near as pretty. :crybaby:

Looking good Sean, yeah wish mine is adjustible.

what do you thik would be best for a second swing arm, 2 gas cans or three? or something else?

latch and stop done

put the latch on at an angle so it pulls the swing arm in and down. 3/4" polyethylene for the stops. gonna make a spring pin to hold it shut just in case. and a pin to hold latch closed, and a gas strut to make it open safer and stop before it crushes quarter panel.

Diggin it. Looking to build one myself and this definitely goes on the list of designs to rip off!
