That looks really nice - powdercoat next?

Two questions:

- Is the post welded at the bottom of the bumper as well?

- Is the recovery point welded to the frame mount somehow?

Nice work. Dan.

Well, when I said I'm finally done, I mean almost done. Right now the bumper is going to get a good coat of rattle can paint, it is easier to do a touch up with rattle can incase I get some dents. This is also a bolt on application, I still need to weld on a plate to cover up the gap in the back end, also need to bolt down the side protection to the frame. The recovery mount is welded right behind the frame.

I rattle-canned my sliders for the very same reason.

I see someone spotted it for sale on Craigs, that's a very reasonable price for what looks like a well-built piece. If I was in the market, that would hit the A list for sure.

In fact, if I decide to keep the '62, I may be contacting you for some work there if you're interested.

Dan.

That's a nice bumper for that price. I've yet to see any bumper complete with a swingout for less than $1300. Nice work!

Edit: Did you build the first one for Nick or just use his as a model? BTW, your welds look great!

Thanks! i built that first one for nick. i was gonna build just a simple 2x4 bumper with swing out, and nick wanted some side protection so that is what we came up with. the side protectors even help out alot to make the whole design stronger the way the supports for them attach to the frame and stop the rear beam from twisting, which doesnt seem possible (3/16"2x4) but when the truck is bouncing down the trail alot of force is exerted onto the main beam from the tire on the swing arm and can make it flex or twist, and less flex and movement and the better.
