Howdy all - well my alternator is making 'whirring' noises so it's time to shop, just thought I'd check here first to see if anyone has something decent you're looking to sell or unload.
I'll probably go with something slightly bigger than the stock 80 amp model, but don't see the need to go crazy with some 280A model.
Currently have a newer Bosch AL3270N 80A model installed that the PO gave me with the truck and I installed 4 years ago, and a bit disappointed that it's failing with only a few thousand miles on it. I still have the original factory 80A alternator that I swapped out when I installed the Bosch as the PO told me it was bad. In reality it was probably fine, but the battery itself was toast... Nevertheless, I'm not particularly keen on reinstalling a 160k mile alternator.
Any recommendations or suggestions for makes/models that that last longer and won't break the bank?
