The STLCA is committed to carrying on the tradition of the Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride for the 29th year. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has caused many things to change in the way we can socialize. That being said, we are implementing some additional changes to this year’s event. Earlier this year we made the difficult decision to reschedule GSMTR to October 26th - 31st, 2020. In an effort to keep our staff and participants safe, we have decided to make the following changes for the 2020 event. We are limiting the number of driver registrations to 100 this year. In addition, there will be no onsite registration available. We feel that by taking these precautions we can minimize the risk to all of our attendees. We will take necessary measures to help you follow social distancing guidelines during the event. We also ask that if you or anyone in your family is sick, has a fever or you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home.

We will continue to update you to any changes that may be necessary as GSMTR 2020 approaches. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you at Windrock Park in the Fall!

Now that Southern Cruiser Crawl is cancelled, is anyone else wanting to go to GSMTR? Registration is "sold out", but there shouldn't be any problem just showing up like previous years.

Stephen @Forerunner myself and my dad will be going. I'm going to borrow one of Drew's @RusticMtn trailers to setup for base-camp this year.

Still haven't decided if I will take the 80 or the 60. The 80 makes more sense for Windrock, but we'll see.

I might be interested in that - will need to check the kid's soccer schedule that just came out.

Hey Cole, you may want to hit up Andy on here or FB to see how they are handling walk-ups. The initial post does say that they won't be doing on-site registrations this year. They can't keep you from riding and camping, but not sure how they will handle other stuff like dinners and the raffle.

Good call Matthew. I was thinking worst case, guys could camp in the primitive section of the park and then ride with us. No raffle or food provided though.

Are you guys planning on coming?

I know I mentioned this previously and I wouldn't repeat it, but I had 2 or 3 folks ask me about going at "not crawl 2020" this weekend and I also got reminded each time that if I didn't register then I can't go.

They can't keep you from going to the park and wheeling, and we will be in town that weekend and will probably be up at the park on Saturday for a bit, but im not sure how they are going to handle folks not registered being in and around the pavilion. Hopefully they are cool about it, but at this point I'm not sure.

I've heard they are being strict about not letting anyone in camp area/pavilion without a wristband. But the thought here is to get people to come and just camp in the primitive section (not the big field we are in) and wheel with us.

With the clear objective for a safe healthy GSMTR for all, the event was rescheduled with a limit of 100 registered trucks. This appears to be an attempt at promoting social distancing where guidelines or criteria do not exist. i.e., Best guess safety measure.

[personal opinion for what it is worth]
If we all practice social distancing / wearing masks at gathering points (i.e., behaving with common sense & courtesy) through out the week, there would be no reason to be strict.

I am definitely looking forward to another great GSMTR. I am confident this community of Cruiser lovers will make it so as you have always done.
