I'm upgrading my 16" wheels to the 17" FJ Cruiser "phone dial" wheels. They look great, but the center cap just barely fits, but doesn't snap. I'm sure spacers will fix the problem, but I only need a 1/4", if that much. The Slee ones are too much, too much space at 1.25" and too much at >$200. I've found the universal 1/4" aluminum spacers (looks more like shims) for $40 at the parts stores. Specifically, these are Transadapt, any opinion or experience with these universal spacer?

Don't like them, limit how much thread your lug grabs which leads to problems. If you do it, at least go with ET style lug nuts where you can reclaim some of the threads on the wheel stud
