No smoke.
Didn't see any obvious signs of metal shavings/filings/chunks in the oil pan, neither did I see anything abnormal looking on any of the internal components...
 
Could be a broken valve spring so one valve is staying open? Best case scenario cos it can be fixed without pulling the head. Pull the rocker cover & make sure everything is opening & closing properly with the engine running.
 
I'm gonna start with a valve adjustment/verification before I dive into ripping the engine apart.
 
It might further help diagnose the problem without pulling the head...
 
Personally, I don't think that it is worth doing a leak down test on this one. Sure it will tell you which valve is burnt or whether there is a hole in the piston or the head gasket. knowing won't help you fix it. Unless it is something easy like a broken valve spring or a stuck valve, which will be obvious when you take the valve cover off, the head is going to have to come off any way and then the problem will be obvious.
