I'm getting near the end of an engine rebuild, and since I only have to pass sniffer, I'm leaving out all the smog/emissions crud. here's my q's:
1) Can I yank the emissions computer, or do I need it for the vent (carbon can) to work right?
2) Should I keep it, do I need the carb temp sensor hooked up? what about the VSV's?
3) Is there anything else I should worry about? my goal is
- functional vent/breather/canister
- Functional vac-advance/retard
- Is there a throttle/choke connection I need to save?
any help is appreciated... I can trade pr0n for good info!!
btw- this is an '83 fj40, I'll be using the stock carb w/headers
also-I checked the tech section, but there's only diagrams. I'm interested in a whitepaper explaining how it's all supposed to work, what's core, what are secondary, etc.. Anyone know if that exists?
