I found the 3 wires that send power to the chimes for the door and, driver and passenger seat belts. They are in the dash under the storage compartment behind the steering wheel. I cut them and ran them below the A/C control unit next to the switches. The switches I used are these:
This switch in a 2 position toggle, ON and OFF. The switch is supposed to be illuminated when in the ON position. I ran the cut wire through the PWR and ACC poles and I pulled a ground circuit. When the ground in connected to the switches it messes things up, chimes stay on even in the OFF position or won't come on at all, and I also noticed I could not lock the doors with my remote.
Any ideas of what's wrong?
Full disclosure: I don't have advanced electrical knowledge
