Wondering if someone can clear up my confusion for me. I've been trying to figure out why the CDL button I retrofitted appears to do nothing on my '94 GCC manual truck. But then I had a flash this morning where it occurred to me that since the car is part-time 4WD (i.e. I have a 2H, 4H and 4L transfer case shift position), the CDL button will do absolutely nothing, no? I.e. shifting to 4H actually achieves that which "H"+"CDL" would do on a full-time AWD truck, and "L+CDL" is equivalent to 4H on my car?

In which case I should remove the switch and put the blanking plate back in? heh

Correct. If it's a factory part time transfer HF1A, the CDL switch won't be doing anything.
Yep. That’s exactly what I have. Thanks! Can use the slot for some other switch now. :)

I guess I got thrown by the fact that there was a harness plug there with a bridged switch like this. Thought that was doing something.

Now you can use that as a 'kill' switch.
